Orlando has many attractions and theme parks that are popular with families. The local attractions can be very exciting but the hotels can offer just as much fun without the high admission fees. You can book a hotel room at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress for as low as 12,000 Hyatt Points per night.

The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress can be found on the east side at Walt Disney World Resort’s theme parks. How far is Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress to Disney World? It is approximately five miles from Epcot’s parking lot, and less than twenty miles from Orlando International Airport.

The hotel does not provide a shuttle service. Guests must either rent a car or book a taxi or shuttle to get to their hotel. Self-parking costs $27 per day and private valet parking costs $40 per day.

You can park your car when you are ready to go to Walt Disney World Resort or Universal Orlando Resort. You can save time and money by using the complimentary shuttle service provided by the hotel to both parks.

The hotel lobby is a mix of modern architecture and natural vegetation. The lobby is a combination of modern architecture and natural plants. Your eyes immediately focus upwards at the 17-story open air atrium with skylights that let in natural light. Stop by the parrot as it entertains guests while you are on your way to the front desk.

Accommodations

The majority of rooms at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort have the same layout. The rooms are 360 square feet in size and have a private balcony that overlooks the lake or pool. Standard rooms can have either one king or two double beds.

The hotel offers ADA-compliant rooms that have either a bathtub or a shower. Book this type of room, or talk to the front desk if you require these features.

Although there are five options for suite upgrades, I was not able to upgrade to any of them despite being a World of Hyatt Globalist Member. It wasn’t something I was concerned about as I was only there for a couple of nights. There are several upgrade options:

  • Bi-level Suite.

  • Executive Suite.

  • Junior Suite.

  • President’s House.

  • VIP Suite.

Upgrades to the President’s House and Bi-level Suite look incredible. To increase your chances of getting an upgrade, you should visit off-peak hours.

Incredible pools, waterslide, and grotto

The pool area is one of the highlights of Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort. It was an amazing experience. I can see why the resort ranked 9th in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2021 Reader’s Choice Awards.

The pool has 800,000 gallons. It features two pools, 12 waterfalls, and a waterslide. The two whirlpools allow guests to relax, while young children enjoy the water jet splash area. Through its grotto, you can swim between the two pools. You can splash around with your friends and family every day from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The hotel offers “dive-in” movies on certain nights so that you can cool down in the water while enjoying a movie.

Additional guest amenities

The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress covers 1,500 acres of paradise, with many amenities. There are many amenities available for guests to enjoy, including a stunning pool area.

  • Private lake. You can rent a paddle boat or stand-up board from the hotel to use on the resort’s 21-acre lake.

  • Golf. You can book a round at one of the 36 Jack Nicklaus Design courses. For those who aren’t so serious there is a pitch-and-putt course of 8 holes and a miniature golf course of 5 holes.

  • Nature trails. Visitors can walk or bike miles of tropical nature trails.

  • Fitness Center. Hyatt StayFit’s gym has state-of the-art equipment including four Peloton bikes.

  • Sport. There’s 12 tennis courts, five with lights, two outdoor racquetball courts, and a basketball court.

  • Spa. Marilyn Monroe Spa offers massage therapy, as well as a salon that offers manicures, pedicures and facials.

Food & beverage

There are four bars and restaurants to choose from if you feel hungry. There is also a market where you can buy fresh baked goods, coffee, and other necessities.

  • Four Flamingos: A Richard Blais Florida Kitchen. Four Flamingos is a dining experience like no other. It’s set under a canopy of palm trees, and offers a unique dining experience that will make you feel as if you’re in a tropical paradise. Richard Blais, a renowned chef, offers a delicious menu of fresh-caught surf or fire-grilled turf.

  • LakeHouse is the main restaurant at the hotel that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in casual surroundings. The buffet was very extensive and included almost every food you could want. I arrived at 9:15 a.m., and was forced to wait for about an hour before I was seated. Avoid the long lines by arriving early.

  • The Lobby Bar: Located opposite the front desk, the Lobby Bar is located in the open-air atrium. In a sports bar setting, you can order food or drinks and watch your team play on flat-screen TVs.

  • On the Rocks: Order food and drinks at On the Rocks while you are relaxing by the pool. You can either order directly from the server or walk up to place your order.

I was a World of Hyatt Globalist Member and received a complimentary breakfast at LakeHouse every morning of my stay.

Book the Hyatt Regency Grand Cipress with points or money

My stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress was booked during Labor Day weekend. I was visiting Orlando for a conference and arrived at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress a few days before to enjoy the hotel’s pools and other amenities.

My stay was a one-night stay at $189 per person plus tax. This included a room with either two double beds or a king bed. This is a great cash rate considering all the amenities in this hotel. Rates for rooms vary depending on the time of year and when you travel. Mid-November 2022 rates average $300 per night, while early-April 2023 rates average $380 per night.

This hotel can be booked for 12,000 points per night instead of paying cash. With the World of Hyatt Credit Card, you can either use points or get a free night certificate. That’s just 1.6 cents per points during my stay, which is 12,000 points.

We don’t recommend using points when the cash rate drops so low. Instead, we value Hyatt Points at each. Book in November or April to get a value between 2.5 and 3.2. This is a good redemption.

The World of Hyatt Credit Card has a bonus to help you quickly earn points. After you spend $3,000 in the first three months of account opening, you will earn 30,000 bonus points. You can also earn up to 30,000 Bonus Points if you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. This includes purchases of up to $15,000 that are normally worth 1 Bonus Point.

How do I get to Orlando

Orlando is a very popular tourist destination, both within the United States and internationally. Orlando International Airport is served by 35 airlines, which includes all major U.S. carriers.

Southwest Airlines and American Airlines are the two major airlines that fly to Orlando. They make them great options for travelers who want to fly to Hyatt Regency Grand Cipress Resort from anywhere in the U.S.

Southwest offers frequent fare sales for both cash and award flight tickets. The points are linked to the price of a cash ticket at 1.5 cents per point. This airline is a popular choice for those who are looking to save money and can be rebooked without penalty if the ticket price drops. Each passenger also gets two free checked bags.

If you’re lucky enough to get the right deal, booking award flights with American Airlines can be a great way to save big. We value AAdvantage points at 1.5 cents per. You may be able save money depending on the time you travel and where you originate from. Book flights with miles using “Web Specials”, which offer lower rates.
