Hotel Review: The Beverly Hilton

There are many reasons to stay at The Beverly Hilton, including its restaurants and famous pool. Here is our review of The Beverly Hilton.

The Beverly Hilton is located at the corner of Sunset and Wilshire boulevards, less that a mile away from Rodeo Drive. The hotel offers many great amenities, including shopping, people-watching, and restaurants in Beverly Hills. It is also an ideal base to explore Los Angeles.

The Beverly Hilton can be reached in less than 20 minutes from Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and J. Paul Getty Museums.

The hotel’s design is a mixture of old Hollywood, mid-century and modern luxury.

The hotel’s history is evident as soon as you walk in. This hotel, which has been hosting the Golden Globe Awards for more than 40 years, was once owned by Merv Griffin. It has also hosted many other notable events and guests. We don’t think it is outdated just because we feel its history. Beverly Hilton also invested nearly $90 million in renovations to modernize the hotel.

The lobby, rooms and pool are more Hollywood-like than the rest of the hotel. However, the restaurant and gym are more modern.

Food & beverage

The Beverly Hilton offers a variety of dining and beverage options, including

• CIRCA 55 offers California-style dishes with a modern twist. We recommend breakfast by the pool.

• Sant’olina is a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and a delicious mix of Mediterranean and Israeli cuisine.

• Lobby Lounge , offers cocktails, small bites, and people-watching.

• In room dining available between 6 a.m. and 11:30 p.m.

Reserving dinner at Sant’olina is a good idea. We recommend ordering warm za’atar bread with beet muhammara dip.

Accommodations

Beverly Hilton offers 566 guest rooms in three buildings: the Wilshire Tower, Oasis Building or the pool area. Below is a brief overview of the hotel’s locations.

• The Wilshire Tower. The rooms here have views of the hills surrounding it and balconies that give the feeling of living indoors/outdoors. The sunny California weather is available to guests.

• The Oasis building. The rooms have views of the hotel’s fountain and courtyard. Many rooms feature newly renovated bathrooms.

• Swimming pool. The pool area is surrounded by tropically-inspired cabana rooms, which offer pool-deck patios.

The cabanas in the pool area have a more party atmosphere (we saw some doors open with guests dancing and moving back-and-forth among rooms), but you can choose from other options if your preference is for a quieter experience.

The Beverly Hilton offers a variety of amenities to its guests, including

• Aqua Star Pool. You can reserve a daybed or relax in a lounge chair to see if a celebrity walks by.

• Fitness center. Fitness center with cardio and weight machines. Also, guests can enjoy fresh towels, headphones, and apples.

• Upgrade Labs. A fitness and health center that is only open by appointment. Offers treatments such as cryotherapy and an AI adaptive bicycle. Prices per session.

• The Bellezza Salon. Access to hair stylists, manicures, and pedicures.

The bottom line

The Beverly Hilton is a mixture of Hollywood glamour and luxury design. It’s ideally located for all the major tourist attractions in Los Angeles.

Although the hotel is deeply rooted in Hollywood history, major renovations have made it feel modern without losing its charm and history.

We recommend booking a dinner at Sant’olina if you’re visiting Los Angeles. Here you can enjoy views of Beverly Hills as well as the Los Angeles skyline. You can also enjoy the same views from The Wilshire Tower, and have a private terrace in your room to take in the sunny Southern California weather.
