Are you familiar? The Japanese airline, ANA, is a frequent name for All Nippon Airways and offers a wide range of long-haul routes all over the globe. The ANA business class is well-known for its service and seating, but you will find different options throughout the fleet.

Let’s take a look at ANA 787 and ANA 777 business classes, and what you can expect to do when flying this premium product.

At airport

Business class passengers traveling with ANA enjoy superior service at the airport. However, this can vary depending on your departure point. You’ll receive priority boarding, priority check-in and expedited security at eligible airports.

Passengers can also access the business class lounge. ANA has its own lounges at Tokyo Haneda and Tokyo-Narita. Star Alliance lounges are available to passengers departing from other airports. These lounges include United Polaris and United Club lounges in the U.S.

In the lounges, you can enjoy complimentary food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks. Additional amenities include:

  • Quiet workspaces.

  • Wi-Fi Free.

  • Relaxation areas with massage chairs.

  • Shower rooms.

Although tempting, these lounges are not the best places to eat. You’ll want to make sure you have enough room for all the delicious ANA onboard dining options.

Business class passengers will also be the first to board the plane. This means that you’ll get priority-tagged checked baggage and first access to immigration lines.

ANA has three types of seat on its aircraft. You’ll find cradle-like seats with 59 inches pitch on some 767-300ER and 787-8s. These seats have a 2x2x2 arrangement, so people sitting in them will need to climb over others to reach the aisle. The other products are much better.

ANA’s newest business-class seat is now available on select 777-3300ER aircraft. These suites, which were unveiled in 2019, are flat and have sliding doors that open to the rear and alternate between forward-facing and backward-facing. The suites are 1x2x1 in arrangement, which allows for easy aisle access to all seats.

The older business class makes up the rest of ANA’s fleet. These seats are fully flat so that you can relax comfortably. Direct aisle access is possible with ANA’s newest seat designs, which have a 1x2x1 configuration.

Despite the differences in seat size and recline, you can still expect to benefit from storage, personal entertainment screens, and fold-out tables. ANA can rent laptop batteries for flights that don’t have in-seat charging, but most seats will have outlets that you can charge your devices.

Entertainment: You’ll find an LCD screen or a 4K display at your seat, on which you can view ANA’s vast selection of TV shows and movies. The screen size is variable. Passengers in “The Room”, will have the largest screen, at 24 inches.

Those who are in the cradle seat will be able to see a 12.1 inch monitor while those in the middle-tier business class seat of ANA will see a 17.8-inch entertainment system.

ANA also provides in-flight WiFi for business passengers, but this is not free.

The Amenities can vary depending on the flight route but may include:

  • Mattress pads.

  • Comforters.

  • Down pillows.

  • Foot rollers and headphones that cancel out noise

An amenity kit will also be available with:

  • Toothbrush sets.

  • Mouthwash.

  • Face wipes.

  • Eye masks.

  • Hand and face cream.

  • A mask and a comb.

In-flight dining

The quality and freshness of ANA’s food is a hallmark of first and business class. No matter what route you fly, this is true. You can choose between a Western-style or Japanese meal.

You can print the menu at your table. It will change according to season and where you are traveling. A Western-style meal might include a crab salad and grilled salmon, as well as boneless beef short ribs. Sweet fish with roe, pear and fried tofu can all be part of a Japanese meal.

Pre-ordering your meal can be done before you fly to ensure your choice.

Light dishes are available outside of mealtimes. These can include katsudon, rice crackers, and ramen.

People with special diets don’t have to be excluded. ANA provides a variety of meals for people with gluten sensitivity, vegans, vegetarians, and others with dietary restrictions, such as religious or religious needs.
