We compared the estimated car insurance rates of several Mississippi insurance companies and found that we could calculate an average cost and which insurers offered the lowest rates for different driver profiles and needs.

These calculations were based on a minimum-coverage insurance policy and a fairly neutral driver profile. This allowed us to compare rates and give a baseline view of the rates offered by insurers (see our complete methodology). Your driving record and other factors that impact car insurance such as your age, vehicle type and mileage may affect the rates you receive. Our calculations were based on a standard profile that included no claims, accidents, or tickets.

Methodology

Based on a profile of a driver between 36 and 45 years old living in Mississippi, the estimated rates shown in this article represent the lowest rates. The rates shown assume that there is only one driver on the policy, with no driving tickets and no claims. This estimate assumes that the vehicle is worth between $20,000 to $30,000 with an annual mileage of 12,000-15,000 and is in good condition. Rates for insurance for good credit are based on scores of 720 and higher. Rates for insurance for people with poor credit range from 350 to 579.
