There are big changes afoot in some of the most well-known casinos and resorts along the Las Vegas Strip .


Marriott and MGM Resorts will begin a partnership in October on reservations, loyalty programs, as well as a gaming platform.

A dozen Las Vegas casinos and resorts affiliated with MGM will be added to the Marriott Bonvoy Portfolio as part of a long-term deal. Marriott Bonvoy will be able to utilize the booking systems of MGM to earn points and redeem them, as well as to access loyalty programs when they stay at MGM-affiliated properties.


Among those affected by the MGM affiliates are ARIA Resort & casino, Bellagio Resort & casino, Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, and The Signature At MGM Grand.


Marriott Autograph Collection and The Cosmopolitan will continue their partnership.


The deal also includes five other MGM resorts located outside Las Vegas.

After the merger, MGM Rewards MGM Rewards members can enjoy reciprocal benefits on bookings made through Marriott Bonvoy.

Marriott and MGM partnership


In October, Marriott Resorts and MGM Resorts officially announce their partnership.


The deal initially will only affect a few properties, even though it will ultimately cover 17 MGM Resorts with more than 40.000 rooms across the country. Both companies anticipate a complete rollout before the end of this year.


The companies stated in a statement dated July 17, that they expect to provide more details on the linking of accounts and the loyalty benefits closer to the launch. This applies to Marriott Bonvoy Members booking at MGM Properties and MGM Rewards Members booking at Marriott affiliated hotels.


Which MGM Vegas Resorts will be joining Marriott Bonvoy?


Marriott Bonvoy Members will be able, by the end of the year to use Marriott’s channels for booking stays in 12 MGM Resorts hotels throughout the U.S. and Las Vegas.


Marriott will create a new collection, MGM Collection and Marriott Bonvoy as part of this partnership. The 17 MGM hotels in the United States affected by this new partnership will all be included in that collection.


Marriott is also adding a few of these same MGM hotels to its existing collections of hotel properties, including The Luxury Collection, The Autograph Collection, and The Autograph Collection.

MGM Resorts outside Las Vegas partners with Marriott Bonvoy


Marriott Bonvoy and MGM Resorts have partnered to offer five additional properties in addition to Las Vegas.

The deal includes a gaming partnership


Marriott also signed a loyalty deal with BetMGM, MGM Resorts’ online gambling and sports betting division.


Marriott and BetMGM have agreed to a deal that will allow players to convert BetMGM Rewards points into Marriott Bonvoy Points and earn Marriott Bonvoy on their gaming transactions.


It is expected that the companies will release more details about this partnership in this autumn.


Hyatt’s partnership with MGM comes to an end


Marriott Bonvoy’s partnership with MGM Resorts marks the end of a similar deal.


Beginning Sept. 30, Hyatt loyalty holders will no longer be able to book MGM property stays using the booking channels of their company.

All existing reservations are honored. However, guests will not be eligible to earn World of Hyatt or Tier Qualification Nights during any stay that extends beyond September 30.


The situation is similar for MGM Rewards: No MGM Rewards Tier credits for dollars spent on Hyatt hotels after September 30.

Customer in each loyalty program who has matched tiers between March 1, 2020 and July 14, 2030 will maintain their loyalty status until Jan. 31 2024 for MGM Rewards and February 29, 2024 for The World of Hyatt.
