Although it is often considered a winter resort, this Colorado mountain town draws tourists year-round to enjoy its fine food, shopping, and outdoor activities. Aspen is renowned for its high-end atmosphere and hotel scene.

There are many Marriott Bonvoy properties around the area. These include The St. Regis Aspen Resort with its elegant and traditional elegance as well as W Hotels’ chic outpost in Aspen, which is known for bold designs and unique music.

Take a look at the W Aspen’s offerings to travelers who visit this popular destination.

This luxuriously designed, slope-side hotel is located at the Aspen Mountain base. It’s also close to the Aspen Mountain gondola. You can walk to many shops, restaurants, art galleries, museums, and other nearby attractions. The central location of Aspen W hotel makes it easy to enjoy both the mountain and the views.

The resort draws inspiration from both the Swiss ski chalet culture and the region’s past. It combines old and new elements with 1970s glamour and glitz. The W Verbier is another mountain escape resort. From the outside, the hotel’s architecture looks like a European ski lodge.

The inspiration for interior designers came from the Native American Ute culture and local legacies regarding the Aspen silver mining industry. You will find subtle nods throughout the resort to both.

As guests check in, they are welcomed with a glass rose champagne in the main lobby. An enormous mural featuring colorful images of landmarks and notable people is displayed on the wall.

The restaurant and bar are located on the upper level of the lobby. The main focal point of the hotel is the large, egg-shaped DJ booth. According to staff, the booth is actually the size of the largest chunks of silver taken from the mountain. Although Aspen is not a destination known for hosting late-night parties, the party scene here is quite active, especially on holiday weekends. The W Aspen New Year’s Day party is one exception. It is guaranteed to be a great time.

The hallways are dimly lit and have dark walls. This is to recreate the feeling of being in a mine. The guest rooms have Ute-inspired designs that alternate between different colors.

There are many colors in public areas. An outdoor fire pit is a popular choice for the après-ski crowd.

Food & beverage

There are two dining options at the hotel, 39 Degrees or The Living Room. They offer three meals per day. The complimentary breakfast for Platinum-level Marriott Bonvoy elites is one of many perks. It can be a great value for two people sharing a room.

You can choose from indoor or outdoor seating at either restaurant for lunch or dinner. The menu features classic American cuisines such as sandwiches, salads, and burgers. Local ingredients are often used to create these dishes. For those who travel with children, there is also a kid’s menu.

The Wet Deck rooftop bar is open during the season with a selection of drinks and cocktails, as well as a small menu featuring light fare. Locals love the daily specials. This outdoor space is the largest in town. This place hosts DJs; during the summer, it is just as popular as the pools at Las Vegas resorts.

The Grotto is the newest option in this area. It is a darkly lit, club-like cocktail bar with soundproof walls.

A modern fitness center is located one level below the lobby. It offers the latest equipment, apple juice, bottled water, and towels. Although there isn’t a spa in the hotel, guests can make reservations at nearby St. Regis. To explore the surrounding area, guests can borrow bikes from the hotel.

Winter months offer guests the opportunity to use complimentary storage for skis, boots, and snowboards. These benefits are covered by a $50 per night “destination” charge. This fee also includes access to the hotel’s bike and car fleet, bottled water, and weekly activities.

How do I get to W Aspen

The airport in Aspen is only 10 minutes away from the hotel. However, flights are very limited. The airport is served by Delta Air Lines during winter, and American Airlines and United Airlines throughout the year. There are less flight options outside of winter.

United and Delta use dynamic pricing models, which means that the price of a redemption ticket in miles will change based on demand and supply. American follows a loose award chart, with flights as low as 12,500 mile each way in the main cabin. There are sometimes web specials that lower the miles required.

The Aspen W Hotel’s redemption rates are now variable as Marriott Bonvoy has moved to dynamic pricing. We found that the lowest rate for a one-night stay in the summer or fall was 71,500 points.
