Let’s take a look at JFK’s Terminal 5 Lounges. How do you access them? What amenities are they providing?

JFK is an enormous airport that has multiple terminals and lounges within each one. Terminal 5 is no exception. Passengers have access to four different lounge options. These include:

One of these options is the Aer Lingus Lounge. However, all the others offer a range of amenities for travelers.

Lounges can be restrictive by their very nature. These lounges are often small and you can only gain access to them if you have the right credentials. Each lounge has its own entry requirements.

• Aer Lingus Lounge : Open to business class passengers of Aer Lingus, Aer Club Elite members and day pass holders.

• USO Lounge Only active duty, reserve, and National Guard personnel can use this lounge.

• JetBlue Rooftop, and Wooftop Terrace are available to all passengers at Terminal 5.

• BeRelax Spa is available to all passengers. Priority Pass Select members of Chase are eligible to receive a complimentary massage.

Only active-duty military personnel and their families have access to USO lounges. USO lounges are staffed by volunteers and allow travelers to unwind in a safe space. Each location offers a unique experience. There are over 250 worldwide. Accessing them doesn’t necessarily require you to go through airport security. This is true at JFK. It’s located at Terminal 5’s baggage carousel 3.

You can find food and beverages inside, including tea and coffee. There are charging stations and computers that accept common access cards. Entertainment is also provided through movies and video games. There’s even a dedicated area for children.

If you are departing from Terminal 5, you will need to go through security again. However, the USO lounge offers a calm pre-flight experience for service members. The lounge is open daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Aer Lingus lounge is a traditional airport lounge that’s located directly across Gate 26. It offers complimentary food and beverages, as well as showers, free Wi-Fi, and a business center. The Aer Lingus lounge offers alcohol as a complimentary offering, which is not the case at the USO.

Aer Lingus does not belong to any airline alliance. This means that those who have top-tier status with other airlines will not be able to get in. Aer Lingus frequent flyers and business class passengers are the only ones who have complimentary access.

Aer Lingus sells day passes to its lounges, which are available for purchase by those who wish to gain entry. This cost is $30 per person. However, Aer Lingus temporarily stopped pre-paid sales for JFK passes so you will need to buy your pass upon arrival.

From 12:45 p.m. to the last departure of the airline, entry hours are open

If your pet is traveling with you, or you just want to enjoy some fresh air after clearing security, the Rooftop & Wooftop at JFK’s Terminal 5 offers a great way to go outside.

It is located opposite Gate 28 in Terminal 5 and can be accessed daily between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Even though it can be quite cold in winter, this is still a great opportunity for pet owners, especially for long flights.

You and your pet can also enjoy the Rooftop or Wooftop, which offer outlets and great views.

The last lounge option is an honorable mention, since it’s not actually a lounge. The BeRelax Spa, on the other hand, is a spa. It also participates in Priority Pass which allows eligible members to receive complimentary massages.
